RecCon 2023 is here!
Rec Con 2023 was a free community event in Rec Room from October 5th through October 8th in 2023, where players meet up in ^RecCon followed by many events, panels and exhibit halls.
When players arrived at Rec Con, they would have automatically received two free items: a Blue Rec Con Hoodie, and a Rec Con necklace.

Rec Con 2023 had a small room with an exclusive shop known as Elseware. It had many things that could be used to interact with. Along with this, players could obtain a Forsaken and Rec Con Bubbly from a strange portal inside the room.

Strange Portal
The Strange portal opened with one of the seven artifacts.
The strange portal can be activated with any of the seven Elseware items. Once activated, any players with or without an Elseware item could enter for a short amount of time before it closes. Attempting to open the portal without an Elseware item will give a certain message, telling the player that it needs some power from the artifacts the researchers found in order for the portal to work.
The shop for Rec Con 2023 has 6 new items along with 6 other items. The item's prices (from lowest to highest) are:

Rec Con Maker Pen Skin
During Rec Con, you could find maker pens hidden in all the rooms. Finding all 100 maker pens gave you the Rec Con Maker Pen skin. This skin is very similar to the default blue maker pen but it has tiny lighter blue maker pens as a pattern. Here is a chart of how many maker pens were in each room:

Controversy[]
Many criticized the rerelease of Bow Skin (Ghost) (known colloquially as the “Ghost Bow”) in the storefront. The skin was originally obtained from a weekly challenge in December of 2017. Many veterans were displeased as the rarity of the skin plummeted.
